Colleyville LEOs volunteer at Eyeglass Recycling Center

Club volunteers worked at our new Recycling Center, evaluating, cleaning and cataloging over 1300 pairs of donated eyeglasses.  Glasses with broken or missing lenses or parts are discarded or salvaged.

Volunteers clean the eyeglasses that get through the initial usability screening and then examine them with a lensometer to determine the prescription. They are then sealed in plastic bags with the prescription noted on each bag. Bagged glasses are packed into boxes according to prescriptions and stored until volunteer humanitarian groups need them.

The Colleyville LEOs helped staff the Colleyville Heritage Lions Club Easter Egg Hunt at Delaney Vineyards.

The 3rd Annual Easter Egg Hunt, hosted by the Colleyville Heritage Lions Club, was a delight for kids of all ages with three separate hunts (age specific). Games, treats, contests, prizes, food and beverages were on hand as well as bounce houses, a petting zoo, face painting and lots of fun!  The event ran from 2:00 – 5:00, Mar. 24, and all proceeds benefited sight related charities!

New Lions Eyeglass Recycle Center opens in District 2E2

The grand opening of the new 2E2 Lions Club Recycling center was well attended by a host of Lions Clubs and our very own Colleyville LEO Club. The center will try to be open on Saturdays from 9am to 3pm.
